Coral Lips

I found my perfect combo for the perfect shade of CORAL for my lips!

It’s a mix of Nars’ Love Devotion” lipstick and MAC’s Lychee Lux” lipglass.

I use the Nars lipstick as the base (which actually goes on slightly sheer), and the Mac lipglass as the final sweep of shimmer on top!

Mochi had fun using them too! ;)

You can purchase your own Nars’ lipstick here, and your MAC lipglass here!

No More Gross Bun!

…tryin to get a shot of the subtle highlights too.

I DID IT! I went short!

If you follow me on Facebook, I gave away a pretty obvious clue yesterday, that this day would finally come to fruition!

And I have to say it’s a big relief, and feels SOOOO GOOOOD! :D

No more gross buns, and unruly & frizzy mane to figure out what to do with.

Thank goodness.

A big THANK YOU to my fabulous and lovely hairdresser Michal.

And as he said, “I love it. You look very Junior Editor.”

Thanks Michal,

I’ve always wanted to be a Junior Editor. ;)

Sometimes it’s the simple things…

After my lunch with my mom and her friend, I took advantage of the rest of the day to take care of a few errands & to just enjoy the last few hours of sunlight.

Dropped off some things I sold on Ebay at the post office, paid a bill, then headed to Bay Street to walk around, browse, and a quick stop into our local Barnes & Noble for a little magazine perusal. I left with the January issue of Nylon with Mila Kunis on the cover. Her shots came out amazing for her spread. I’ll have to scan them and share. :)

I also picked up a new nail polish color and a “Marble Mocha Macchiato” from Starbucks which I’ve never heard of before, so I decided to give it a try.

The new nail color is “You Don’t Know Jaques” by OPI. After Rumi from Fashiontoast said it was her default color, I thought I’d check it out. It looked like a good neutral color for every day.

And I’m glad I got it when I did, it was the last one at the nail shop!

Obviously a very popular color.

Not surprising I guess. ;)

It’s funny how such simple things can make you so happy.

Off to paint my nails!

Get your perfect messy braid here! ;)

I for one totally fell for the braid trend that happened last year. And think for the most part anyone can pull it off. It’s such a simple & cute way to change up the hair-do just a little bit.

First it was the neatly tucked small braid in the front (Ya know for the time when you’re trying to grow out the bangs! I personally still do this look even when I’m not. Ha!)

As our lovely L.C. & Jen Aniston demonstrate here…

Then it was the larger crown braid (and it’s many interpretations), for an ethereal up-do that a lot of celebs sported.

And now it’s all about the messy side braid!

Which gives you that “I just woke up and threw my hair in this sloppy but super cool looking braid” look.

Well my lovely peeps at Free People have put together their very own  “how-to” video for you on how to get this awesome look, by creating a fishtail braid. Which I thought was a lot more difficult, but actually looks pretty do-able.

I for one am gonna give it a whirl!  ;)

Wish me luck!

p.s. I learned a few days ago that Rumi from Fashiontoast is in Philadelphia right now styling & shooting for Free People! Can’t wait to see the spread she does for us! :)

Visit Fashiontoast for updates on her experience.

So ugly you’re cute.

Today was a full day of errands. Did some last minute baby shower shopping, last bridesmaid dress fitting in the city, finally got around to getting my oil changed & smog checked! I have been car-less for almost a month, because I have yet to receive my registration tags, because I had failed to get my smog check in time!

But good news…Ginger (my VW beetle) passed!

I even high-fived the mechanic!

Ended my day with Will, our friend Denise & Anthony, and my godson Damion at Denise’s place, to watch the Mosley & Mayweather fight.

I personally am not a fan of boxing, but went for the company and the food!

As we were all hangin out and chattin before the fight started, I picked up this little toy that was laying on Denise’s dining table

and said..

Oh look at the ugly cute doll.”

then Denise said,

“Squeeze it.”

That was it folks.

We’re totally getting one.

Ha!

In the GRAY

A few days ago I was browsing through the California magazine, while blissfully eating my Trader Joe’s Vanilla Jo-Jo’s, and came across this article on the latest trend in nail color….shades of gray.

And as I grabbed one of my delicious Jo-Jo’s I glanced at my own gray painted finger nails, and thought..

Yea that’s right, I’m with it.

Ha, ha! ;)

I’ve had these gray painted digits for almost a week now, after visiting my dad and siblings last Saturday, I noticed my sister had painted her nails this fabulous “concrete” colored gray. She actually wasn’t thrilled with the color, me on the other hand, loved it!

And for a Walmart bargain price of $1.99, I would have to say it was worth it sis! :)

It’s about time to touch up the nails (as I’m sure you can tell), but don’t hold your breath, as it only took me almost 3 months just to do these!

After reading this little article, I learned of the nail polish brand Nubar, which is a cruelty free, vegan nail polish!

Wow!

All their nail polish collections are free of formaldehyde, toluene, and DBP (phthalate).

And their Fortress collection has a pretty good mix of different shades of gray for you to try.  I think I may indulge just a bit more and try a few.

Here are some of my faves…

{Palisade $7.49}

{Stronghold $7.49}

{Silver Sword $7.49}

{Knight’s Armor 7.49}

Definitely check out their other colors as well,

and have a little fun! ;)

What a Gorgeous….mane?

{image via google images search}

Now, this isn’t the first time that I’ve heard of this horse shampoo & conditioner. Yes you heard me correctly, I said horse.  It is suppose to be great for human hair as well, and I remember reading about it in my Lucky mag a few years back, but discarded the thought of trying it after a few weeks of contemplation.

Well I was reminded of it again after catching an interview with Demi Moore on the “Chelsea Lately” show.  I actually don’t normally watch this show, but was channel surfing yesterday afternoon, and decided to keep it on the E! network when I couldn’t find anything else to watch.

Now as we all have seen, Demi has undeniably gorgeous & shiny hair, so I had to pay attention.  So, as Chelsea’s interview with Demi was coming to an end, she casually asked her, “What do you use on your hair?”  Demi replies with a chuckle, “horse shampoo!”

{tonic gossip}

So I decided to do a little research on the horse shampoo & conditioner, and Mane N’ Tail is the most popular that is used amongst us humans. And when you go to their website, they even give you a choice between, personal & horse care.

Totally didn’t expect that.

Anyway, reviews I’ve read have said that they’ve seen significant results, others say it hasn’t made much difference. And I’ve read that if you have extremely fine and thin hair (which I don’t), that you shouldn’t use it.

My one and only main concern was, “Is it safe for me to use?”

Well, apparently it is, so I think I’ll give it a whirl! ;)
