A Night of Music & Silliness!

Friday night I went out with my Cuzzo-meister, friend Vy and her boyfriend Mike to Slim’s in the city for a night of music discovery (and partly for my Cuzzo’s bday). We went to go check out a few bands (Battlehooch, Butterfly Bones, The Limousines, and Wallpaper (an Oakland native)) I have never even heard of, but glad I went and saw. They were actually pretty fantastic! I HEART music, there’s nothing better than great music to put you in a good mood, get the blood flowin, and then you just sit back and let the endorphins kick in!

But I must ask, what is it with people who go and see a live band, and just stand there? C’mon people, these guys are playin & sing’n their hearts out for you, the least you can do is enjoy it a little and shake your bum in pure pleasure! :)

Sorry no outfit pics from me, I wasn’t really thinking about it. But I did spot some cuteness in the crowd, but to be honest it was slim pick’ns @ good ‘ol Slim’s, but always good people watching. Even a guy pole dancing by himself. Ha, ha…it was great.

It was more about having a good time and enjoy’n some tunage!

I love this pic, it cracks me up!

{Loved her adorable Betsey Johnson heels, but I forgot to write down her name?! If you see this post, please email me so I can post your name to your pictures! Thanks!}

Battle of the Icons

My Outfit:

1. T by Alexander Wang charcoal tank from Gilt Groupe

2. J Brand skinny jeans in ghost (a total score for $19.99 @ Anthro)

3. Free People Venus faux fur jacket

4. Dolce Vita over-the-knee black boots

5. Vintage belt

6. Converse One Star faux leather clutch from Target

7. J. Crew necklace (short one)

8. Random long chains necklace (forget where I got it from)

9. Rachel Leigh Le Jaws bracelet from Shopbop

So last night I went out for a much needed time of fun! After being apart of a jury for 2 weeks I needed a release! My good friend Tanya “T” invited me to join her and a few other friends to the Prince vs. Michael night for a little dancing and fun. All night they played different eras of Michael Jackson and Prince. It was fantastic to hear all the great music from both of these amazing artists. And @ only $5 a ticket it was totally within my financial means. I love going to the city when I can. There are so many cool little spots to enjoy and great people to mingle with.

I took a few pics of some of the stylish attendees and well…those who just caught my eye! ;)

Enjoy!

{Ok, yes I know no outfit shot here, and believe me what he was wearing was pretty much the standard, T-shirt, jeans, and sneaks.  This was solely taken for my friends T and Deborah. They were in awe of his gorgeousness! Hey Michael, have you thought of going into modeling??}

Style in The City

I had a whirlwind of a Saturday, a few bumps in the road [parking ticket, Bloomingdales account not approved, running late, no $$, etc...], but Saturday night I had the most fun time with two of my closest friends Ange [a.k.a Cuzzo] and Tanya [a.k.a "T"]. We attended the first ever Style Wars competition in San Francisco at the Mezzanine (one of my favorite venues), where local bay area fashion designers compete by creating outfits in 5 minutes with random clothing pieces and household items. And at just $12 for the ticket, it was perfect for my recessionista budget! Some outfits I thought were pretty creative with the time constraint given, and others well….fell a little short. Like they just grabbed anything and threw it on the model. I kept thinking, “Whoa waay too much, edit, edit!”

Now I’m not the greatest photographer, but wanted to share a few photos from the event, as well as a few fashion forward attendees and San Francisco locals. Enjoy! :)

{French Connection dress, Hue tights, Frye booties, Kooba clutch, Betsey Johnson hoops, Anthropologie ring, Banana Republic chain bracelet, old necklace I threw on}
