My Color Take

As I mentioned yesterday, I wanted to share my  colorful outfit of choice for our “dress-up weekend” we had last week in Wonderland.

It was inspired by the style in our recent catalog.

This was my take on it…

{FYI: If you click on the images you can see a bigger version of them}

{Totally embracing bright colorful makeup too! I may have overdone it on the blush, but oh well. :P }

So what did ya think?

It was so much fun to put this outfit together. I had already mentally put the blouse and skirt together  days before our dress-up weekend, but wasn’t sure about the rest.

But my Adia Kibur necklace was a definite yes as my main accessory! And I finally got a nice clear shot of it so you could see it!

Don’t be afraid to put color on top of color. It makes a huge impact, and when balanced with neutral colors it all comes together . ;)

Keep the color comin!

My Outfit:

1. Dolan yellow silk blouse

2. Daughters of the Liberation brown leather circle skirt (one thing I can cross off my wishlist!)

3. Vintage Frye boots from Ebay (need to get the soles replaced on these bad boys pronto!)

5. Random turquoise bead necklace worn as a bracelet

6. Knuckle cage ring from Five Stones Vintage (doesn’t it look just like a Pamela Love?!)

7. Silver knuckle ring from F.P.

Safari Attraction

Messed around with the camera tonight as I wait to pick up the hubby from his fourth long night at work in a row.

We’ve been dining on take-out this week, because of his late nights. Our bellies are lovin us right about now.

The pictures turned out kinda blurry & yellowish, but for some reason it doesn’t bother me too much.

Plus I wanted to work the new “do”!

Ha! ;)

Heck I don’t have anything else better to do.

Oh wait, I’m suppose to be doin the dishes!

Whoops!

Have a SUPER AWESOME weekend my friends!

I know cheez ball, but I couldn’t resist.

Just in the knick of time

Before Spring came out in full force, I thought I’d bust the cape out!

Only worked a few hours today, and had the rest of the day to myself. My mom and her best friend Cheri came by and took me to lunch at La Mediterranee on College Ave. in Berkeley.

It was sucha cute place, glad we went.  And the food delish!

The sun has been peeking it’s pretty little head out the last few days, but there’s still a cold bite in the air, so I thought this outfit appropriate for the day. ;)

This outfit was slightly inspired by this photo…

from this post back in October.

I always favored the camel colored cape.

My apologies for all the “parking-lot” photos lately, but the hubby and I haven’t been able to venture out with our schedules being so different. Hopefully that will change soon. I’m getting pretty bored with them myself. :P

My Outfit:

1. Camel cape by Sunner (which I got for an amazing price after an exchange and a few price adjustments)

2. Wool toy soldiers scarf by Tolani

3. Denim button-down by fei

4. Level 99 jeans

5. Duck boots by Bass from F.P

6. Asos turnlock satchel

7. Sunglasses by S.E.E Eyewear

Gray Matter

Didn’t put much thought into this outfit I wore yesterday, and wasn’t struck to even take photos in it until my manager told me she was inspired by the fact that I was basically only wearing one color,

Gray.

I did mix it up with some gold and red nails, but

who would’ve thunk? Not me.  ;)

My Outfit:

1. Taikonhu cropped blazer

2. “A Bit Biased Tee” by Left of Center (last seen here)

Just A Few Drops

A little unexpected rain…

Close-ups are still not my forte. Ha!

But at least you get a pretty descent shot of my little Bug Ginger. ;)

Yes I totally named my car. She needs a good washin, but she still looks cute.

No hubby to take the photos again, and I was rushing to get out of the rain. It would start, then stop, then start again. It was slightly bizarre.

Hopefully on another day I can get a clear shot of my Adia Kibur necklace, that I got for such an amazing deal @ Shopbop, during their additional 25% off sale.

I’ve had this beige leather jacket for a few months now, but never had a chance to take any shots wearing it. I love the color and the cut of this jacket. I’m still searching for my perfect black leather jacket, and I’m hoping I’ll find it soon. It’s definitely a much needed staple in my closet.

This skirt was such a great deal! $19.95! I got it in November from Wonderland, when someone returned it. I was never quite sure what I wanted to wear with it, but I love the retro feel of it. It totally reminds me of something from the 70′s!

I don’t think I’ll ever pay for anything full price for a very long time.

Working in Wonderland definitely has it’s perks! ;)

My Outfit:

1. Idra beige leather jacket

2. Cartonnier velvet horse printed high-waisted pencil skirt

3. “A Bit Biased Tee” in White by Left of Center (seen in the gray striped version here)

4. Adia Kibur necklace from Shopbop

5. Erica Anenberg “Twosome” silver ring from Gilt

6. Nails done in Essie’s “St. Barth’s Blue”

7. Fossil watch Gifted from the hubby

8. Vintage eel skin clutch from Ebay

9. Seychelles “Blimey” heeled oxfords from Gilt (which you can’t see, but you can here!)

10. Earrings from a long time ago from U.O.

Makeshift Forest

We tried our hand at some night shots again, remember this post?

Sometimes you just gotta go with it, and it did give Will the opportunity to experiment a little bit with his settings on his camera again. We were going for a “eerie forest” look, which didn’t really happen, but I think the combination of freezing cold weather and a lack of a good location (used our parking lot, again.), didn’t really allow for us to take the time to really experiment how we would’ve liked. But I think we still got a few good shots.  ;)

And yes I totally wore my J.Campbell Ticks to Wonderland today. They were actually quite comfortable, but I think a 5-hour shift is the limit in these bad boys. ;)

It’s back to my normal work routine tomorrow, so it’s an early morning for me!

So I’m off to wind down and get ready to hit the hay.

Sweet dreams lovelies…

My Outfit:

1. “Take The Wheel Jacket” by Cartonnier

2. “A Bit Biased Tee” by Left of Center

5. Both necklaces from J.Crew

6. Ring from F.P., Watch gifted from Fossil

7. Grey Olivia Harris clutch from Gilt

8. My trusty multi-chain bracelet from B.R.

Victorian Schoolboy

Wasn’t quite sure how to describe this ensem, but it made me feel a bit “Victorian”, and a little “Schoolboy-ish“?

I have been experiencing more and more with shorts lately, and have purchased a few pairs this year, but haven’t always showcased my outfits wearing them on this blog, mostly due to “un-oportun” moments.

Either, No time. No camera. Or No one to take the photo.

I have been trying though, as shown here and here.

And yes, the hubby was on hand to take these shots.

Yay! :D

Work in Wonderland was a beast today.

I thought pre-holiday shopping was madness, it doesn’t even compare to the post-holiday craziness.

And I need a haircut. Badly.

If you follow me on my FB you know I’m contemplating a short do!

What do you think? Should I bite the bullet and just do it?

My Outfit:

1. “Brief Meeting” Blazer in Navy

8. Birdcage necklace, ring, and watch from Fossil

Vagabond in Winter

I have come to realize that a majority of my clothing seem to fit extra loosely on  me lately. I haven’t quite decided if this is intentional or not, but after a much needed (and pretty much, an every 6 month thing) purging of my closet, I’ve learned most of the things I own are probably a size or two too big!

In any case, after rubbing the sleep from eyes and rushing out the door to take Will to the bart station this morning, I was surprised with a jolt of chill and noticed my poor little beetle was all covered in ice, and looked like a snow ball in front of our door!

We literally sat in the car for like 5 minutes to wait until the ice melted from just the windshield.

Which brings me to this lovely ensem. Which I thought was actually quite appropriate for the cold weather, and yes, very vagabond-ish. ;)

{The most comfortable shoes ever!}

I know what you’re probably thinking, if it was cold, why are you wearing silk pants?!?

Don’t worry I had my fleece lined tights on underneath. ;)

My apologies for the poor picture quality. I’m still having issues with the settings on Will’s camera. This taking pictures thing is hard!

And way too complicated for me to have the patience to figure out.

I cannot wait until the day comes that Will is home while the sun is still out!

Tomorrow is Friday, have any awesome plans this weekend?

I actually do have some pretty fun plans to look forward to for once, even though I’m working (per usual). I am looking forward to a holiday fete tomorrow evening, possibly a housewarming party after, and Saturday a double date night! WHAHOO!

My Outfit:

1. “Irresistible Feel” Faux fur vest in cream by Sanctuary

2.“Gust Of Grey Blouse” by Maple

3. “Multibility Crops” black silk pants by Lil

4. “Hanna Monk Shoes” by Bass from F.P. (on top of being super comfy, they are at a great price point to boot!)

5. Asos turnlock satchel from Ebay (I am on a satchel frenzy!)

6. Elephant necklace from Ebay

7. Rings from F.P. & Gilt

8. Fossil watch Gifted

A Few Things…

Just wanted to share a few things that I have been wanting this year, and finally got!

Kinda

I believe all year I have been blabbing about wanting a pair of Hunter wellies, well I still haven’t gotten  them,

but I did get these…

and I love them!

Price isn’t that bad either, and with my discount, it was a sweet deal I couldn’t pass up! ;)

You can get your own pair here.

I love the height of these bad boys, because they work perfectly with “un-skinny” jeans & pants, and they kinda just look like regular boots.

And remember this heartbreak?

Well I found the perfect compromise!

Honestly, can you really tell the difference between this lovely $9.99 Ebay discovery, to the Dannijo Babar one?

They look almost identical, besides the fact that mine is brass (and not as high quality, but I’m ok with that), and the Dannijo one is silver.

I was so pleasantly surprised when I came across it during a late night perusal of “Large Elephant Necklaces”, that I almost instantly hit “But It Now”, but saw it was coming from Hong Kong, and did in fact hesitate.

But I thought, “If it’s a scam, or I never receive it, it’s not that big of a loss.”

Normally I avoid purchasing anything from overseas on Ebay, but this time, I felt it was worth the risk (plus it was FREE SHIPPING!). ;)

They still have some available, so hurry on over and get your own here, before they’re all sold out!

Oh, and here’s a little glimpse of my dresser top, for a little reality check.

Will says I have habits like a college student.

I think he’s probably right.

Happy Friday everyone!

Hope you have some awesome plans this weekend, I think we’re finally going to have a break in the rain, and it maybe even a little warmer too?!

The rumor is, it’s suppose to be 70 degrees this weekend. And if the rumor is true, maybe I can take a few outfit pics! ;)

Black Friday. Not So Black.

Hello Lovelies!

How was your Thanksgiving holiday, and post holiday?

The hubby and I had our own little Thanksgiving together, and he cooked everything from scatch! ….except the pies.

I had no clue that he was going to do that?! And everything turned out DEEE-LICIOUS! He did such an amazing job and I couldn’t have been more grateful.

Thank you Honey.

My little sister stopped by and hung out with us for a little bit, but for the most part it was just “us”. Which was fine, it was nice to have a little intimate holiday without the hectic craziness of trying to go and see everyone in one day.

After dinner we watched Toy Story 3, and nursed our food coma with pecan & chocolate cream pie! ;)

So on the infamous “Black Friday” I worked in Wonderland. Hey, it’s the beauty of working in the retail biz! I did work the opening shift, so I wasn’t there for the madness that I imagine that did end up happening, because when we opened, it was actually not too bad? Which I was kinda surprised about, but I guess it makes sense because we aren’t a “Black Friday” kinda store. We don’t have the big sales like other large retailers do. But I just assumed because people would already be out & about shopping that herds of them would end up in our store!

After my shift, which ended nice and early, and left me time to enjoy the rest of my day,

I couldn’t wait to get home and…

make myself a nice helping of leftovers! It was just as delicious the next day.

Trust me. :)

While I ate to my hearts content, Mo did this

I did end up giving her a few morsels of turkey.

I tried my hand at the tri-pod again so I could show you a few of new purchases! Remember this, and this?

And of course again I couldn’t get the darn camera to focus!

While I was taking my pictures, my neighbor pulled up into the parking lot (I was so emabarassed, but tried not to show it.), and asked him if he could focus the camera for me, which he was nice enough to do. Thanks Kev! ;)

And I was able to get some clear close-up shots.

Thank goodness something was in focus! Ha!

And after he left, it was back to this…

Oh well.

In any case, I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving, and maybe even scored some fab deals post holiday.

I did end up going to the city after my shift and getting a few things. And my intention was to exchange (which I wasn’t able to) and return (which I did), and ended up with 3 more new things!

I was on the hunt for a faux fur vest, which Zara had, but of course not in my size! I almost purchased some booties instead from there.

Almost.

Ha, ha!

xoxo….e
